DBS Group Holdings (DBSH) has appointed Judy Lee as a non-executive and independent director to the boards of DBSH and DBS Bank, effective August 4.
In addition to serving on DBS’ main boards, Lee, 53, will also serve as a member of their audit committee, board risk management committee, and compensation and management development committee.
Lee is currently the managing director of Dragonfly LLC, an international risk advisory firm based in New York. Concurrently, she is chief executive officer of Dragonfly Capital Ventures LLC, which develops and invests in renewable energy in Southeast Asia.
She brings with her over 30 years of experience as a banker, risk management expert and adviser to CEOs. Within banking, she has worked in trading, capital markets and derivatives. In quantitative risk management she has been a pioneer, practitioner and adviser across all risk types and industries.
Before Dragonfly, she was a partner at Capco, a global financial services solutions firm. Prior to that, she was a partner at Capital Market Risk Advisors, a strategy and risk management consulting firm. At Bankers Trust, she was a key member of the pioneering team that developed quantitative risk methodologies in the late 1980s, the first in the market and now an industry standard.
Lee is currently an independent director of Commercial Bank of Ceylon. She is also an independent director of Temasek Lifesciences Accelerator and a member of the executive board of the Stern School of Business, New York University. She previously served as board director of Solar Frontier, a renewable energy subsidiary of Showa Shell Sekiyu, now Idemitsu.
An American citizen, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance & International Business from NYU Stern Business School, and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She also attended the Advanced Management Program as well as the Women on Boards Program at Harvard Business School.
