Deutsche Bank Wealth Management expands Global South Asia team
Shankar Jha named managing director and group head of GSA team in Singapore

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has appointed Shankar Jha as managing director and group head of its Global South Asia (GSA) team in Singapore. He will be reporting to Amrit Singh, head of Global South Asia.

Jha has over 20 years of experience in private banking and wealth management. Prior to joining the bank, he worked at DBS Private Bank, UBS and Citibank as a private banker and team leader, covering clients in Singapore, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, India and the United Kingdom.

Sachin Thussu has joined the firm as a director and senior investment adviser based in Singapore. He will be part of the investment management team and report to Ritesh Goenka, head of Investment Management Global South Asia.

Thussu has over 20 years of experience across financial markets (FX and precious metals) and cross-asset advisory. He previously worked at DBS Private Bank, Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered Private Bank and Citibank, across desks in London, Zurich and Singapore, covering clients ranging from private wealth to quasi-institutions.

This year, the bank's GSA team has hired 14 relationship managers in Dubai, Geneva, and Singapore, including Dhananjay Rathore and Shankar Jha as managing directors; and Richard Van-Dirmen, Hervé Alykhan Ladak, Randeep Singh and Harshin Shah as directors. Three investment advisers have also joined the team in Dubai and Singapore.

In India, the team has hired four relationship managers, including Rajasekar Ayyalu as a director.
