Fidelity International has appointed Johann Santer (pictured) as Asia-Pacific ex-Japan regional lead for private banking and wealth. He will be responsible for driving the growth and regional alignment of Fidelity’s wealth proposition for clients across private bank and retail channels and leading its strategic client programme.

Santer has more than 15 years of industry experience in the asset management and private banking industries. He joined Fidelity in July 2018 as head of private banking business for Asia ex-Japan, delivering services and investment solutions for private banks in the region.

“The private banking business has grown significantly as a proportion of Fidelity’s overall business in Asia-Pacific. Favourable demographic trends and positive economic outlook in the region for the medium to long term highlight the need for a strong wealth proposition for clients. Fidelity’s strong investment heritage in Asia, industry-leading research capabilities, as well as our sustainable investment expertise, are key differentiators for the business,” Santer says.

Santer will lead an expanded team of senior distribution experts across Hong Kong and Singapore. He will continue to report to Mittal.
