Vontobel Asset Management has appointed Lee Wei Kai as its head of Asia-Pacific, taking over in this role from Ulrich Behm, who will lead company’s intermediary and partnerships channels in Switzerland going forward.

Lee brings to Vontobel 18 years of industry experience and a long-standing track record in covering large asset owners and consultants across the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining Vontobel, Lee was at Stone Harbor Investment Partners, where he was a partner, the head of Asia-Pacific and a founding member in Asia. Previously, he worked for UBS Asset Management in Singapore on the pan-Asia institutional business development team. He started his career at the Monetary Authority of Singapore in 2004.

“Growing our presence in Asia-Pacific is one of Vontobel Asset Management’s key initiatives,” says Marko Röder, head of client unit asset management. “With Lee we have won a strong partner to accompany us on that journey; his client-centric and investment-led mindset aligns very well with Vontobel’s values.”
