BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Jane Karen Ho as head of stewardship, Asia-Pacific, within its global sustainability centre, effective October 3.
Based in Singapore, Ho reports to Michael Herskovich, global head of stewardship, and regionally to Angelia Chin, Singapore chief executive officer.
Ho will lead the firm’s stewardship activities in Asia-Pacific, including researching key corporate governance issues, undertaking direct and collaborative engagement on sustainability, and working with policymakers on key issues relating to sustainable finance.
Ho has over 20 years of experience in financial services and investment management. She joins from the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC), where she was director of investor practice. During her time at AIGCC, she spearheaded and led global initiatives where AIGCC is a network partner, including the Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative, the Paris Aligned Investment Initiative, and the Investor Agenda.
She also launched and led AIGCC’s Asia Utilities Engagement Programme, which runs parallel with Climate Action 100+. Prior to AIGCC, Ho was an equities portfolio manager at JPMorgan Asset Management for more than 10 years.
Ho graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of Oxford, St. John’s College; and a distinction in master of science in sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also a chartered financial analyst charterholder and holds a CFA certificate in climate and investing.
