The Investment Management Association of Singapore (IMAS) has appointed Jenny Sofian as chairman. She is the chief executive officer of Fullerton Fund Management.

Sofian has three decades of industry experience, with a deep understanding of asset management in Asia. Prior to joining Fullerton in 2017, she spent more than 20 years at Amundi Singapore, and was the CEO and head of South Asia since November 2009.

She has held various investment and business leadership roles, including senior portfolio management and research responsibilities. As honorary treasurer of IMAS since 2019, she has contributed immensely to the financial stewardship and management of the association.

Sofian is actively involved in a number of industry bodies, including as member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s financial centre advisory panel and sitting on the advisory board of the Singapore Green Finance Centre. A member of the Institute of Banking and Finance’s fund management working group, she was conferred the IBF fellow award in 2020.

Her appointment replaces Susan Soh, the outgoing chairman of IMAS, who has been in the role for three years. Under Soh’s leadership, IMAS actively engaged in national initiatives and steered IMAS committees to advance the fund management industry.

Founded in September 1997, IMAS is a representative body of investment managers, spearheading the development of the industry in Singapore, by fostering high standards of professionalism among practitioners and creating public awareness of, and interest in the industry. It has more than 150 members.
