Hyatt Regency Hong Kong in Sha Tin, in partnership with Tesla, has expanded its electric-vehicle supercharging station, said to be the largest of its kind in Asia-Pacific.

The project involves adding 12 superchargers and 12 destination chargers to the station, which now boasts a total of 32 superchargers and 13 destination chargers. (Tesla superchargers are for long-distance travel, while destination chargers are meant to boost the vehicle’s travel range during a stop at the hotel.)

The hotel says the expansion exemplifies its commitment to promoting the use of renewable energy and the development of sustainable transportation. It says it is taking a number of steps to help make a positive impact on the planet, such as assisting guests in integrating sustainable practices into their meetings and events, and collaborating closely with different business partners and non-profit organizations to manage energy, water resources and food waste effectively.

“We are committed to actively seeking out alternatives, innovations and ideas to continually care for the planet, people and responsible business, and this project fully demonstrates the hotel’s strong support towards the development of sustainable transportation and a greener future,” says the hotel’s general manager Wilson Lee.

To celebrate the inauguration of the expanded station on February 8, Hyatt Regency is offering exclusive dining and wellness discounts to Tesla owners and their companions until April 30.
