Citi has appointed Lin Hai as head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) for China. In this role, he will oversee all business and operations for CCB China and will be responsible for driving its strategic market share, operations, and financial performance, including fostering key client and regulatory relationships.
Lin reports to Gunjan Kalra, head of CCB for Asia North, Australia and Asia South clusters, and Luke Lu, Citi country officer and head of banking for China.
CCB is an integral part of Citi's global strategy and a key engine for growth. It focuses on delivering the bank’s competitive product suite, including cash and liquidity management, foreign exchange, trade finance, capital markets, and lending solutions, to mid-sized corporates looking to build an international footprint.
Lin joined Citi as a treasury management associate in 2002. Over the past 20-plus years at Citi, he has worked in various roles within the markets business in Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China.
In his most recent role, he was head of corporate sales and solutions, markets, for mainland China and Hong Kong, driving business growth and leading various initiatives and activities.

Lin has a master's degree in financial engineering from the University of Hong Kong and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He also completed an executive MBA from the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance.
In Asia, CCB serves clients in 11 markets including Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
