Asset manager Federated Hermes has appointed Kozo Fujioka as sales manager to its Asia-Pacific sales team, with responsible for alignment and distribution of the company’s products to meet the needs of financial institution clients in Japan.
Fujioka will be based in Tokyo and report to Wataru Horii, head of business development in Japan. His appointment follows that of Jim Roland in 2023 as head of distribution for Asia-Pacific and, the firm says, “underlines its commitment to expanding its footprint in the region”.
Fujioka brings extensive experience in serving financial institution clients most recently as head of financial institution clients at T Rowe Price Japan. He previously held institutional investor sales roles at PIMCO Japan and was a fixed-income product specialist with JP Morgan Asset Management, having started his career at Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management.
“Fijioka’s extensive experience and deep understanding of the Japanese market make him an invaluable addition,” Roland notes. “His appointment is a clear indication of our continued commitment to Japan and our ambition to support the evolving needs of our clients, including Japan’s leading pension funds and financial institutions.”
