Northern Trust opens Seoul office
The official opening of the branch was marked by an opening ceremony on February 28.

Northern Trust opened a Seoul branch office in South Korea on February 28 2017. 

The official opening was marked by an opening ceremony on the same day. The event was attended by 270 representatives from banking and financial institutions, industry associations, and government entities in South Korea, according to Northern Trust.

“The Branch license strengthens Northern Trust’s client servicing and FX capabilities and enhances opportunities for business development in South Korea,” says Michael O’Grady, president of Northern Trust Corporation.

Northern Trust has had a representative office in Seoul since 2014. The recent opening brings Northern Trust to 11 offices across Asia-Pacific, in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and now South Korea.
