AIIA launches Belt Road investment fund
The Asia Institutional Investors Alliance (AIIA), led by China Minsheng Investment Group (CMIG), is to launch the AIIA Global Investment Fund which aims to raise US$10-15 billion.The fund will focus on investing in Belt Road projects.

The Asia Institutional Investors Alliance (AIIA), led by China Minsheng Investment Group (CMIG), is to launch the AIIA Global Investment Fund, aiming to raise US$10-15 billion and backed by institutional investors from several regions including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Israel, India, and Southeast Asia. The fund will focus on investing in Belt Road projects.

The announcement was made at a signing ceremony on April 28 at CMIG headquarters in Hong Kong where investors made a commitment to jointly initiate the AIIA Global Investment Fund as strategic partners.

The investors are China Minsheng Investment Group, Orix Asia Capital Limited (Japan), Mirae Asset Financial Group (Korea), Cukierman & Co. Investment House Ltd. (Isreal), Indochina Fund Limited (Southeast Asia), Sun Hung Kai Financial Limited (Hong Kong), BlackPine Private Equity Partners, AMTD Group, Taiping Financial Holdings Co., Ltd, CCB International (Holdings) Limited, GF Holdings (Hong Kong) Corporation Limited, Zhongtai Financial International Limited, China First Capital Group Limited, and Fox Fintech Group.

The fund will focus on developed economies and investment opportunities of advanced technology, financial technology, and emerging industries in countries along the “One Belt, One Road”.

The AIIA was established by CMIG in October 2016 and brings together Asia’s sovereign wealth funds, banks, long-term funds, private equity funds, and others.
