Ping An Asset Management launches risk tool on Eikon
KYZ tool provides early warnings on potential credit risks for companies
The Asset 23 Jun 2021

China’s largest manager Ping An Asset Management has partnered with financial market data and infrastructure provider Refinitiv to launch its KYZ credit risk alert tool on the Eikon platform.

The KYZ tool is the first bond market risk alert tool integrated into Eikon. It leverages big data, and artificial and human intelligence, to provide early warnings on potential credit risks for each company of interest by aggregating various sources of information, enabling credit analysts and investment managers to make informed investment decisions.

Compared with traditional credit rating systems, the KYZ tool provides a more dynamic and holistic view of a company’s credit risk profile and adopts a broader time horizon between the warning signals and the final default.

With its integration into Eikon, a comprehensive set of default indicators and data – related to, for example, public sentiment, fundamental and market risks, and financial statement fraud detection – will be accessible to global users of Eikon.

Given the size of China’s bond market, the KYZ tool offers support and guidance for investors and companies, especially for foreign investors who are less familiar with the Chinese market.

“We hope that the KYZ tool will help investors at home and abroad efficiently navigate the Chinese bond market,” says Kelvin Luo, CEO of Ping An Asset Management. “This will in turn contribute to the creation of a more open, collaborative and prosperous financial ecosystem."
