Citi has appointed Hsiu-Yi Lin as ASEAN head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB). She will lead the CCB business across ASEAN in addition to her current role as CCB head for Citi in Singapore.
Lin will be responsible for driving business strategy across ASEAN where Citi banks multinational and local clients across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. These represent some of the bank’s fastest-growing commercial banking markets in the region where supply chain shifts are seeing increased investment and trade flows through the bank’s ASEAN network.
Many of these companies increasingly want to tap into Citi’s strong institutional digital value proposition and utilize the bank’s regional and global network to support their growth. Citi’s network spans over 100 countries.
“ASEAN represents a key opportunity for the Commercial Bank in the region, with growing cross-border flows. It is home to a fast-growing breed of emerging corporate champions who we want to partner and grow by supporting our clients with their cash management, trade, foreign exchange, capital raising and potential M&A needs,” says Rajat Madhok, head of commercial banking, Asia Pacific.
Lin has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry. Her career has included stints in securitization, treasury, trade and product management in the US and Asia. She has been the head of the CCB Singapore since 2013, where the business has grown strongly. Lin was born and raised in Malaysia, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Physics from Wellesley College.
