A tale of two investment schemes
The Asset 11 May 2018

BOND Connect and China Interbank Bond Market (CIBM) are two of the newest investment schemes aimed at further opening up China's growing bond market.

Ying-ying Tan, managing director, transaction banking at Standard Chartered, discusses the "tale of two schemes" with most Asia-based investors going for CIBM citing flexibiilty of use over Bond Connect that is drawing mostly participants from outside Asia. Tan says this poses a challenge for banks that cater to varying demands relating to the schemes.
