German lender Deutsche Bank (DB) has appointed Esther Wong as a managing director and its group head of wealth management in Southeast Asia, part of the bank’s international private banking (IPB) team, effective January 2023.

Wong, who will be based in Singapore and report to Anurag Mahesh, vice-chairman and interim head, IPB, Southeast Asia, will focus on further expanding the footprint of the IPB Southeast Asia business by delivering the bank’s lending, investing, cash management, one-bank solutions and inter-generational wealth transfer services to various client segments, including ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) and family office clients.

She joins the bank after spending more than 10 years at JP Morgan where she focused on the UHNW client segment. Prior to that, she spent five years at UBS.

Mahesh says: “Southeast Asia is a key region for IPB, Asia-Pacific, and I’m confident Wong’s appointment will drive additional positive momentum.”
