Aymar de Liedekerke Beaufort has over 30 years of banking experience in Europe and Asia
The Asset 12 Apr 2024

BNP Paribas has appointed Aymar de Liedekerke Beaufort as head of global banking, Asia-Pacific, with immediate effect.

In the newly created role, Beaufort is responsible for the global banking business in Asia-Pacific, ensuring seamless coordination among global banking teams and countries in the region and driving cross-regional collaboration to enhance client service globally.

Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Yannick Jung, head of global banking, and Paul Yang, chief executive officer, Asia-Pacific.

With over 30 years of experience at BNP Paribas, Beaufort brings extensive banking expertise from Europe and Asia. Before Asia, he held senior positions across Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany. Notably, he led the development of the bank’s European network of business centres for mid-cap and multinational clients before relocating to Germany to oversee corporate coverage and transaction banking.

Beaufort has spent the last seven years in Asia, serving as head of territory for Vietnam, India, and most recently, South Korea.

BNP Paribas’s global banking business in Asia-Pacific comprises three main units – corporate clients group, global capital markets, and transaction banking – dedicated to supporting clients in their growth and low-carbon transition endeavours.
