Treasurise Awards 2024: And the regional winners are…
Recognizing the banks that made a big difference to corporate treasuries in their capital management and sustainability efforts as Oscars-style revelation night draws near
The Asset 19 Apr 2024

In the face of high interest rates, supply chain shifts, geopolitical tensions, and economic uncertainties, treasury management professionals have to adapt to change. Whether it be streamlining operations or unlocking working capital, CFOs and treasurers over the course of 2023 were keen to add substantial value to their respective organizations, often working with trusted service providers in the region. This value-add could vary from key improvements in a company’s balance sheet to contributions to the overall corporate sustainable journey via green accounts or sustainable supply chain finance offerings.

Over the course of the past 15 weeks, The Asset board of editors spoke with CFOs and treasurers across the region to ascertain what it takes to be a leading transaction bank and stay relevant to clients. This was supplemented by insightful data provided by Asset Benchmark Research’s annual Treasury Review Survey of over 600 respondents from multinationals to large local corporates as well as medium to small-sized companies.

Finally, the board of editors spent a significant period of time with service providers, understanding the latest developments in their respective organizations and their significant achievements over the past year.

As always, at The Asset Triple A Awards, we welcome engagement. We encourage banks to get their corporate clients to vote for their choices via The Asset’s new mobile app and listened to their feedback. For more information about how you can vote, please go here and download our app.

And so, we are pleased to reveal the regional categories, the nominees and the key factors for their nomination.

For over two decades, the Triple A Best Transaction Bank has been the most coveted award among transaction banking leaders. It recognizes the bank that has stood out among peers in demonstrating the ability to implement impactful solutions across treasury and working capital.

To determine the winner of this top award, we rely on client feedback via surveys and one-on-one interviews, among other core metrics.

The Triple A Best ESG Transaction Bank award recognizes an institution for its progress in embedding sustainability in treasury and working capital. From green deposits to sustainable supply chain finance, nominees are those that offer sophisticated tools and options for ESG-focused companies to embed sustainability into their commercial DNA.

The Triple A Best in Treasury and Cash Management recognizes service providers who enable CFOs and treasurers to gain better visibility of their account balances, and deploy cross-border sweeps or bank-agnostic architecture to meet client needs. Moreover, banks that excel in this category normally utilize technology to enable digital payments and reduce the cost of handling physical cash.

Banks considered for the Triple A Best Working Capital & Trade Finance are leaders in crafting innovative trade finance solutions and helping companies during periods of shifting trade flows. They are also trailblazers in embracing digitalization, working with platforms to digitalize letters of credit and/or bills of lading.

The Triple A Best in Supply Chain Finance award recognizes service providers who excel not only in deploying finance for business growth but also in helping clients strengthen business relationships across the value chain.  For a high-growth business, supply chain finance is becoming a significant revenue source for trade banks in the region. From supplier financing to distributor financing, service providers are putting their balance sheet to work to bridge the working capital divide facing many companies today.

Nominees for the Triple A Best Renminbi Bank award, a category that is becoming increasingly competitive, are banks well-versed in helping companies adopt the Chinese currency into their treasury mix through the use of sophisticated tools such as cross-border sweeps and hedges across multiple markets.

We are also happy to reveal the regional winners for several market segments and products. These include banks that showcase the ability to provide impactful solutions and stay relevant to their clients by offering timely advice in times of need.

Moreover, we are pleased to list our Editors’ Triple Star choices, which honour banking products that are progressive, innovative and impactful for clients.
